FAQs

Questions about sprains and injuries care

Still unsure? Call (813) 717-SICK and our team will help.

Is it a sprain or a broken bone?

It can be hard to tell. Both cause pain and swelling. An X-ray is the only way to know for sure, and we can take one during your visit.

Should I use ice or heat on a sprain?

Use ice for the first two days, about 20 minutes at a time, along with rest and raising the injured area. Heat can help stiff muscles later on.

Were you hurt in a car accident?

Get checked even if you feel fine, because some injuries show up later. For ongoing neck, back and injury care, we can refer you to Spine and Injury Associates.
