Skin Infection, Abscess and Acne Treatment

A red, warm, painful bump that keeps growing may be an abscess or skin infection that needs care. Our doctors treat abscesses, cellulitis and other skin infections, including draining an abscess when needed, and help with stubborn acne, in person or with a $59 TeleVisit for many rashes.

Symptoms

When should you see a doctor for a skin infection?

Come in when redness is spreading, a bump is getting bigger or filling with pus, or a cut or bite looks infected. Early treatment keeps a small infection from becoming a serious one.

Prefer not to leave home? This can often be handled on a $59 TeleVisit.

FAQs

Questions about skin infections care

Still unsure? Call (813) 717-SICK and our team will help.

Should I pop a boil or abscess at home?

No. Squeezing it can push the infection deeper. Warm compresses can help small boils, but a large or growing abscess should be drained by a doctor.

Could my skin infection be MRSA?

MRSA is a type of staph that some antibiotics can't treat. It often looks like a spider bite or boil. Our doctors can test when needed and choose the right medicine.

Can urgent care help with acne?

Yes. We can start treatment with prescription creams or pills and help you build a routine that works.
