When should you talk to a doctor about your mental health?

Reach out when sadness, worry or trouble focusing lasts more than two weeks, gets in the way of work, school or relationships, or when sleep and appetite change. Asking for help is a strong first step.

FAQs

Questions about mental health care

Still unsure? Call (813) 717-SICK and our team will help.

Can a family doctor treat depression and anxiety?

Yes. Many people get their first treatment from a family doctor. We can start medicine when it fits, check in on how you feel and refer you to counseling.

Can I have my visit online?

Many mental health visits work well by video on a $59 TeleVisit. Some ADHD medicines are controlled substances with extra rules, so your provider may need to see you in person.

Do you test adults for ADHD?

We can screen adults and children for ADHD, talk through treatment options and refer you for a full evaluation when needed.
